Where is it? The White Oak Mikvah is located inside the Southeast Hebrew Congregation building. However, the mikvah was built and is operation for all women in the community—regardless of what Shul they belong to—to use on Friday evenings and on Yom Tov exclusively. It also may be used with special scheduling during inclement weather, where the roads are impassible. The Mikvah may not be used by men or for keilim.

·To schedule an appointment: Please call the Mikvah Line at 301-404-7323 (a 24-hour private answering service) as early in advance that you know you will need to use the Mikvah, so arrangements may be made. You will be discretely called back with scheduling information.

·What are the fees: There is a nominal annual fee for the on-going maintenance of the Mikvah. The $40 annual membership fee entitles a woman to full use of the Mikvah as often as required during the year.It also enables others to use it when they need it.(Out-of-town visitors only can pay a $15 one-time fee to use the Mikvah.)The White Oak Mikvah is supported solely by Mikvah membership dues and donations and is not tied to any Shul or other Mikvah dues.

·How to purchase supplies: Mikvah supplies ($2.00 per package) and special calendars to help in your “counting”($2.50) are available by calling Laurie Cohen at 301-681-7155.

·How can you support the White Oak Mikvah? Your support and participation are much appreciated. The White Oak Mikvah is supported solely by Mikvah membership dues and donations and is not tied to any Shul or Mikvah’s dues. Make your tax-deductible contribution in honor or in memory of someone special. What better way to remember someone than to help support such a wonderful and necessary addition in our community—whether or not you personally will ever need to use it?! With a donation of $1,000 or more, you can honor or memorialize a loved one on a special ceremonial plaque.
